Thank you for visiting my page! I am a senior year Auburn University student majoring in Public Relations Communications with a minor in Spanish Language. Throughout my time at Auburn, I have had the chance to get involved with some wonderful organizations on campus that have further cultivated my knowledge and passion for the field of PR, such as my membership with the Public Relations Student Society of America. Upon graduation, I hope to continue to expand my education in communication and community connection in a public relations role within a forward-thinking organization. As a junior and senior, I have had the amazing chance to work alongside the Auburn University team for the Alabama Prison Arts + Education Project. This organization offers educational opportunities to current and formerly incarcerated individuals across the state. In this role, I collaborated with a team to create The Warbler, a weekly educational newsletter available to the public and distributed to students in correctional facilities in three countries and over 30 U.S. states. Some of my responsibilities included journalistic writing and editing, content selection, and broad research with attention to clarity, accessibility, and varying English comprehension levels. I also assisted in creating and distributing a student anthology magazine of artworks and writings spanning across several years. This role helped me to learn how to tailor messages so that they both resonate well with a variety of audience types, and accurately represent the goals and ideals of an organization. Below are a few examples of my contributions to The Warbler.
As a sophomore and junior at Auburn University, I had the opportunity to serve as Presentation Team Head for my sorority Alpha Xi Delta. I led and worked alongside a group of talented and creative young women for planning, designing, creating, and implementing decorative and functional elements in large organizational event spaces. The most important lesson I learned from this role was how to connect with an audience through visual elements.
